Glory at the Foot of the Rocks, Ryan Ranch, Joshua Tree, California Throughout the Old Testament the desert thrives as a Biblical motif.  In the desert people groups were taught mighty lessons. From those mighty lessons, there was abundance, multiplication, promise, and growth. In Genesis, Abraham's legacy and his family were established through sojourning for a new land.  Along the journey the Lord promised him a nation that would be greater than the numbers of stars in the sky and the number of grains of sands on the earth. In Exodus, the Israelites sought for the promised land, a place filled with milk and honey.  As they faithfully traveled for hundreds of years, they developed as a sojourning nation.  Some developments were within their culture, simplicity of life, and worship and reverence for the Lord. Conference is coming up in about a month.  It surely will be a celebration of 10 years of a growing community.  We have so many reasons to give thanks to Father God who has been extremely good to us.  He has provided and given to each of us more extravagantly than any of us could have imagined. If you can stop and reflect for just one minute and consider the state of your current situation.  Did you ever believe that you would be serving or sitting at the table that you are at? In our Christian worldview, this week is called "Holy Week".  I am not only looking at the symbols, reminders, and the passages that we review during this week, the memorial, but I am looking further past the gift of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross.  This week I am challenged by the humanness of Jesus.  As one of my professors said in class this week,  "From upon the cross when Jesus says, 'Elio! Elio! lema sabachithana?"  which means "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me.'  He is actually shouting READ PSALMS 22 READ PSALMS 22!!!"   Psalms 22:1-2 1 says, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?  Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? ANCHOR What is the first thing you thought within 2 seconds? To those who are beginning a new school year, to the teachers, to the student, the disciple, to the worship leader, to the shepherds, to the designers, the youth staffers, the administrators, the young, the weak, the leaders, the missionary, the family who yearns and draws near to the Fathers heart, continue to share and work together for the sake of the Kingdom. We are not only a catalyst but a Fellowship of Believers. The main purpose of the Southeast Asian Catalyst is to band together in prayer, intercession, prayer, and support of one another's ministries, servanthood, and how we work the harvest together. I once had a vision that I was in a small sailboat and I was cruising in the misty calm fog with a small crew.  All we had was to rely on the navigator who was not in the boat with us to guide us to our destination.  That vision made me realized that the Navigator was the Spirit in my life.  This week I've been praying for many things, people, and organizations that I am familiar with, extending out to the people that they all serve.  In the end all I wanted was for the Spirit to guide us into the will of the Father and to stay true to what he's brought us to and onward.  The next morning I got an email from a good friend of mine.  I thought for this weeks journal entry I would share what she shared with me.  I took it straight to heart knowing that God has plans and its up to us to follow His commands even in the simple things of daily life. -your prayer coordinator Stay the Course written by Vanyda Kheiv  an encouragement to her brot...

To:  SEAC brothers and sisters From: Mydur Xiong As I reflect on this past year, I am moved at how faithful and constant the character of God is in the midst of such shifting circumstances. Many times in my past ministry experience, I kept wondering whether or not I was where I needed to be. I kept running into disappointments, failures, and unmet expectations. In fact, I underwent depression more than I had ever imagined. Yet, through that depression, He drew me back to Himself and helped me to realize that no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, it played a small yet crucial role in His overall plan for me. If I hadn’t gone to Thailand, I would not have received the privilege of traveling throughout the U.S. and visiting my sister churches. I would not have had to privilege of meeting people who had the same burden as I did to see the minority church grow to embrace the beauty of the Gospel and to see it transform lives.
