Prayer for Spiritual Strength

May we find rest and peace from the Spirit. May our priority be to find time and space to commune with You just Jesus retreated to the Gardens to pray. May we experience the wealth and blessings from our inheritance  as co-heirs in your kingdom. May we be courageous and brave as agents of your Kingdom.   Thank you for your goodness and kindness. ******* 14  For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,   15  from whom  every family in heaven and on earth is named,   16  that according to  the riches of his glory  he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit  in your inner being,   17  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being  rooted and  grounded in love,   18  may have strength to  comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and  height and depth,   19  and to know the love of Christ  that surpasses knowledge, that  you may be filled with all  the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19

The Leader Who Had No Title

It's called the LWT, its short for Leader Without a Title.  I think many of us can relate to this.  Often we think to ourselves in our cultural context of being Southeast Asian Americans who function under a cultural constraints, context, "ministry", and or occupation as stuck?  Hurt?   Plateaued, mediocre, with lack of focus, limited??  Some might even still be struggling with self worth and value in their capabilities.  We are approaching SEALS 2014, in a 2 weeks and it is a leadership summit right.  Here is some food for thought: How does this take us to depend on God's love?  How do we REMAIN in him with this though of disintegrating our negative thoughts and behaviors, our past..... The more thought put into choosing to disintegrating negative thoughts, behaviors, and past experiences leads us to consider what it means to deny yourself to take up the cross DAILY, what does being created in His likeness really mean, and how can we function in ministry bette

Closer

Conference is coming up in about a month.  It surely will be a celebration of 10 years of a growing community.  We have so many reasons to give thanks to Father God who has been extremely good to us.  He has provided and given to each of us more extravagantly than any of us could have imagined. If you can stop and reflect for just one minute and consider the state of your current situation.  Did you ever believe that you would be serving or sitting at the table that you are at? At times we loose sight of what to be thankful for; we forget how to draw closer and align our hearts with our Father's heart.  It's an opportune time to take this into consideration as we approach the SEALS 2014....Let us reflect on the words to the song Closer by Bethel Music and Steffany Frizzell Gretzinger.... Verse: Your love has ravished my heart And taken me over, taken me over And all I want is to be With You forever, with You forever Chorus 1:  Pull me a little closer  T

Speaking the Same Language

Where is your mother tongue from?  Where is your identity from?  In all the mix of things, we all ended up here in America.  We share the commonality of speaking American English and being part of the this generations mass media obsession.  We have a certain type of slang that we can all understand.  Kind of shifts the idea of how the Tower of Babel went down doesn't it?   But somehow.... Many days of the year, we still feel out of place in our leadership styles, communication styles, and values system in our ministry, mission, and career industry. I mean who doesn't have a hard day or a bad day, tough bosses, complaints and disagreements. We often feel unheard, unsatisfied, helpless, stuck, unprepared, under appreciated, conscious, and insecure.  All these words make us understand the commonly of disconnect, a gap, and discomfort.  May in the next week or so we approach the throne of grace, to be reunited with the Father, and ask our Father as his beloved children t

Go further this Holy Week

In our Christian worldview, this week is called "Holy Week".  I am not only looking at the symbols, reminders, and the passages that we review during this week, the memorial, but I am looking further past the gift of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross.  This week I am challenged by the humanness of Jesus.  As one of my professors said in class this week,  "From upon the cross when Jesus says, 'Elio! Elio! lema sabachithana?"  which means "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me.'  He is actually shouting READ PSALMS 22 READ PSALMS 22!!!"   Psalms 22:1-2 1 says, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?  Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do no answer, and by night, but I find no rest."   I look back and see that holy week is not a series of symbols, how to be a better person, or recognized that "Yeah, I sinned this many times this year, and this sin was a doosey&

Glowing with Joy

May the glow of the fire in your eyes be like the glow of joy in your hearth, May the warmth of your hearth overflow  like the love that overflows from your hearth.   It's almost Valentine's Day...most of us look at Valentines Day and think about the curse of the western stigmas of "love".  Red ruffled heart shaped pillows with white embroidery, conversation heart candy, chocolate, teddy bears, and flowers. BUT....Honestly, when we are receivers of these gifts and happenings...it feels so good.  The feeling of so much happiness and love, the simplicity of how love does.  A kind of love that brings us great joy from connections with that person that was so willing to give.  That joy and love captivates us.   For much of our population Valentine's Day draws out quite a skeptical and quite jealous, prideful, hurt filled heart, filled with pain, pity, sorrow, sadness, anger, and  a feeling of overwhelmed consumerism and materialism.  We get caught up in
