SEALS 2017 Morning Meditation - John 3: 31-33

John 3:31-33 (ESV)

31.  He who comes from above is above all. He who is of the earth belongs to the earth and speaks in an earthly way. He who comes from heaven is above all.

32.  He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony.

33.  Whoever receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true.

Reflection Questions:

·      What does it mean in three words?
·      How does it make you feel (sad, mad, glad, or scared?)
·      Which phrase impacts you the most?
·      How does verse 33 affirm who you are?  Use action verbs, adjectives, and characteristics to describe how this verse affirms you.

Identifying your Voice in the Name of Jesus

The King's Speech, 2010 One of the greatest movies I have seen in the last few years was The King's Speech.  In the beginning we see how George was unfit to be King because of his lack of confidence, stammering, and stutters.  As he ascends to the throne we see more of King George's frustration and anger.   But through practices, exercises, and an honest frank friendship with Lionel we see King George break through his timidity.  With time, reflecting and redefining himself (past and present) King George is able to identify his voice to lead and affirm the country of Britain during the breaking dawn of war with Germany.   Specifically, There is one scene where there is a major break through in King George's voice.  Lionel is sitting in King Edward's Throne because it is a "chair", but King George is furious because it is King Edward's throne.      "Listen to me, listen to me," interrupted by Lionel, "Why should I waste my ti...

Words

SEALS 2012 was.... generated by Wordle.net For all who attended SEALS 2012, and to the ones that were not able to attend.  These are the words that influence us today as we have departed one another.  With these words we become a living testimony by Truth Is, and by Spoken Word. For those who have returned home to an avalanche of reality, be courageous.  Our fear is not about our doubt, its about our futility, the feeling of being useless or ineffective.  It's healthy to be doubtful, sad, mournful, heavy-hearted, in pain, broken, stressed; these are feelings that the Father created, emotions that He also feels. He also created compassion, joy, empathy, redemption, surrender so that we would rely on Him as a source. This words collaged above represent how attendees felt leaving SEALS 2012.  Be empowered by these words.  May our words continually be edified and may we continue to be bold in our ministries "Be strong and courageous.  Do no...

Glowing with Joy

May the glow of the fire in your eyes be like the glow of joy in your hearth, May the warmth of your hearth overflow  like the love that overflows from your hearth.   It's almost Valentine's Day...most of us look at Valentines Day and think about the curse of the western stigmas of "love".  Red ruffled heart shaped pillows with white embroidery, conversation heart candy, chocolate, teddy bears, and flowers. BUT....Honestly, when we are receivers of these gifts and happenings...it feels so good.  The feeling of so much happiness and love, the simplicity of how love does.  A kind of love that brings us great joy from connections with that person that was so willing to give.  That joy and love captivates us.   For much of our population Valentine's Day draws out quite a skeptical and quite jealous, prideful, hurt filled heart, filled with pain, pity, sorrow, sadness, anger, and  a feeling of overwhelmed consumerism and materialism. ...
