An Anchor for our Soul

ANCHOR What is the first thing you thought within 2 seconds? When we think of an anchor, we first think of the massive hook-like iron connected to a chain to keep a boat from drifting into the far beyond.   In track and field and swimming relays, each team has 4 persons; the last to run is the anchor.  That person has the agility, the endurance, the strength, the consistency observed over many races, and the experience to be the one to finish the race strong. These are the dictionary definitions that affirm our initial visualization of an anchor. 1)  any   of   various   devices   dropped   by   a   chain,   cable,   or   rope   to   the bottom   of   a   body   of   water   for   preventing   or   restricting   the motion   of   a   vessel   or   other   floating   object ,  typically   having broad,   hooklike   arms   that   bury   themselves   in   the   bottom   to  provide   a   firm   hold. 2) a   person   or   thing   that   can   be   relied   on   for   support,   s

Fellowship of Believers

To those who are beginning a new school year, to the teachers, to the student, the disciple, to the worship leader, to the shepherds, to the designers, the youth staffers, the administrators, the young, the weak, the leaders, the missionary, the family who yearns and draws near to the Fathers heart, continue to share and work together for the sake of the Kingdom. We are not only a catalyst but a Fellowship of Believers. The main purpose of the Southeast Asian Catalyst is to band together in prayer, intercession, prayer, and support of one another's ministries, servanthood, and how we work the harvest together. As SEAC we mobilize, empower, and equip as best we can for the sake of kingdom cause. In Paul's words in Galatians 6:1-10 Doing Good to All Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfi

Transformation, Devotion, Establishment

Remember the in 2010  the theme for SEALS was Grass Roots grow into Tall Shoots.. In 2012 SEALS theme was Arise and Shine.  In retrospective the SEAC Women's Ministry will have their first Women's Retreat this coming weekend.  May we all continue to uplift one another in authenticity, affirmation and devotion as we come before the Lord with unveiled faces.  Transformation 2 Corinthians 3  17.  Nww the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.   18.  And we who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.   Devotion Jeremiah 30 21. "Their leader will be one of their own;their ruler will arise from among them.  I will bring him near and he will come close to me, for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?" declares the Lord. 22.  "So you will be my people, and I will be

God’s Field

In all things, God is the Creator, the Author, and the Master Craftsman.  And as his servant leaders we are learning to mimic his craftsmanship.  As we practice, train, and discipline ourselves through life we are being refined from  beginners to advanced servant leaders following the examples of the master designer.  In the beginning he holds our hands on how to do things, and as we grow and develop he helps us redevelop and refine our technique.  He helps us with our skills, but he affirms and nurtures our gifting   Yes, because a Master Craftsmen cares for his apprentices.    In this analogy we see that God has been building up the Bride of Christ and as we know the harvest is ready but the workers are few.  May we know that we are the workers and we build each other up and the kingdom with care and authenticity, even through the growing pains stretching and branching out for the sake of God's satisfaction, our sanctification, and His glorification.  How proud the Master

A Cry Out To God

The word spreads fast.  Facebook, Twitter, and the news have all been blasting the news of twin bombs in Boston.  The immediate thought is, "What is the world coming to, and how can this be happening again."  We think and remember the days of fear and chaos from 9/11.  Today we again are thinking of fear and chaos, Patriot's Day in Boston has not been blood stained with the two lives lost and the hundreds that have been injured and decapitated from the bombing.  In these types of situations how do we pray and approach the throne of grace? In remembering the pangs and pains of suffering of the Israelite people who went through genocide, slavery, bondage, and invasion we see and know that the character of God is just, fair, slow to anger, and quick to love.  We see and experience a God who is peace in chaos, and mercy in times of devastation. In anything and everything of course we can be praying for things like this.....relief workers: from policeman to fireman to E

Identifying your Voice in the Name of Jesus

The King's Speech, 2010 One of the greatest movies I have seen in the last few years was The King's Speech.  In the beginning we see how George was unfit to be King because of his lack of confidence, stammering, and stutters.  As he ascends to the throne we see more of King George's frustration and anger.   But through practices, exercises, and an honest frank friendship with Lionel we see King George break through his timidity.  With time, reflecting and redefining himself (past and present) King George is able to identify his voice to lead and affirm the country of Britain during the breaking dawn of war with Germany.   Specifically, There is one scene where there is a major break through in King George's voice.  Lionel is sitting in King Edward's Throne because it is a "chair", but King George is furious because it is King Edward's throne.      "Listen to me, listen to me," interrupted by Lionel, "Why should I waste my ti

That Foggy Place

Happy Valentine's Day!!! With prayer we can always bless others and show them how much we do love them whether it is behind closed doors, at great distances, hand in hand, or in small groups.  With grateful hearts may we be able to continue to give great love to others through our prayers.  May the love of God continue to bless you and keep you, may God's love shine down upon you and give you peace. On a more personal note on prayer, the article below may help us all to find a piece of God's heart. He desires to continue to build upon your relationship with Him, so please do enjoy the misty foggy place in whatever form it may be for you in this season. That Foggy Place Written by Maylee Chang An element of nature once unappreciated has become one of quiet beauty for me: fog .  It can be a nuisance when one is on the run desiring to get from one point to the other.  However, if one slows down to assess the scene, suddenly there’s definition, formulation of s

Stay On Course

I once had a vision that I was in a small sailboat and I was cruising in the misty calm fog with a small crew.  All we had was to rely on the navigator who was not in the boat with us to guide us to our destination.  That vision made me realized that the Navigator was the Spirit in my life.  This week I've been praying for many things, people, and organizations that I am familiar with, extending out to the people that they all serve.  In the end all I wanted was for the Spirit to guide us into the will of the Father and to stay true to what he's brought us to and onward.  The next morning I got an email from a good friend of mine.  I thought for this weeks journal entry I would share what she shared with me.  I took it straight to heart knowing that God has plans and its up to us to follow His commands even in the simple things of daily life. -your prayer coordinator Stay the Course written by Vanyda Kheiv  an encouragement to her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Journal Resources to the Right

Just a quick note for those who want to individually expand in their knowledge of prayer, and intercession.  There is a navigation bar (nav bar) to the far right of this online journal.  Links, Books, and Inspirational Verses for you to use as a tool. Here is a  new resource that would help those who have a heart to pray for the 1040 window: global north and global south.  Here we all can be in prayer with others on YouTube through the organization Operation World .  This is now in our "Links" tab on the nav bar.  This resource was found on the Passion for the Nation Website .  (under Media).  This is one of their resources that they are providing for those interested in prayer and intercession for the nations.  Operation World is a prayer guide for the unreached countries, at the end of each prayer video, there are bullet points of prayer requests and facts of each country that is being uplifted.  This is also a good tool for those looking for a new way to spend their quie

Silence is a Strong Action

There are two ways to be silent. One is with choice to inactive, and the other is to be active.  Why do we think that when we are silent we are weak.  Is that the necessary case.  It isn't always the smartest strategy to speak out quickly.  There are times when silence becomes the strongest action that is initially taken.    When we are silent we are using our strongest tool that the Father gave us.  No one can stop you from praying, hoping, or believing.  If anyone has ever though that you were too silent they should have thought twice; rather they should have asked, "What have you been praying about, what have you been praying for, and what/whom have you been interceding for?"   When we are silent before the Lord all of a sudden our hearts are available to listen to the words that the Father speaks.  Our hearts are positioned to be ready and available for instruction and discernment.  We gain confidence through silence; focus and clarity. When we are silent, we

Be Prayer, Is Prayer.

This prayer journal entry is inspired by teachers, by ministry leaders, and missionaries. -I've heard a few stories that I was just not okay with recently.  It was enough for me to re-evaluate how IS prayer playing a role in my life to be intentional for the people that I see, hear, spend quality time with, serve with, and respond to.  -One was from a teacher in my small group, "  I don't like to think about the current events happening around the nation about guns occurring at schools because I never thought that I was working in an career where I would be putting my life on the line."  It was her way of saying I can go to work because I don't think too much into the fact that I am putting my life on the line.  She was saying if I think about it too much, I wouldn't be a teacher. Then recently I saw a post on my FB wall about a teacher friend of mine where a student brought a gun onto campus. -I saw am seeing more activism for women in ministry, I am

Goodbye 2012 Hello 2013 (Words of Affirmation)

To:  SEAC brothers and sisters From: Mydur Xiong As I reflect on this past year, I am moved at how faithful and constant the character of God is in the midst of such shifting circumstances. Many times in my past ministry experience, I kept wondering whether or not I was where I needed to be. I kept running into disappointments, failures, and unmet expectations. In fact, I underwent depression more than I had ever imagined. Yet, through that depression, He drew me back to Himself and helped me to realize that no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, it played a small yet crucial role in His overall plan for me. If I hadn’t gone to Thailand, I would not have received the privilege of traveling throughout the U.S. and visiting my sister churches. I would not have had to privilege of meeting people who had the same burden as I did to see the minority church grow to embrace the beauty of the Gospel and to see it transform lives. I would have been unable to see the great
