Words of affirmation from Matt Geppert (SEAPC)

Words of affirmation from Matt Geppert (SEAPC)Words of affirmation from Matt Geppert (SEAPC)Words of affirmation from Matt Geppert (SEAPCAs the US Director for the South East Asia Prayer Center, its my primary responsibility to mobilize people in this nation to pray. The position provides me with great opportunities to meet very diverse and committed groups of people who prioritize prayer in their daily lives. At SEAPC we are involved in many wonderful nations serving the Christian leaders of those nations through the platforms of Education, Health Care, Parenting, and Micro-Economic Development. We have found that as long as we humble ourselves and pray and are obedient to the direction the Lord leads us through prayer then we can be effectively used by Him to see nations change for the better.

Last month we had the joy of praying together at SEALS! I am so grateful for SEAC’s direction in prayer, and for those who went out of their way to ensure that our time and actions at this leadership summit were first dedicated to the Father and that all of us had sacred space to gather and open our hearts and minds to hear directly from our Almighty God.

I know that we left SEALS with the proper spiritual alignment that every great Leader must have to face the challenges of impacting this world. I believe that through the moments where we held hands together and submitted our futures through prayer we came to that great summit of understanding who we are in Jesus Christ.

As we spend this week in Thanksgiving, please take a moment to thank the Lord for the Southeast Asian Committee, for the staff and leadership of SEALS, and for all of the great break throughs we have received this year through prayer!

Speaking the Same Language

Where is your mother tongue from?  Where is your identity from?  In all the mix of things, we all ended up here in America.  We share the commonality of speaking American English and being part of the this generations mass media obsession.  We have a certain type of slang that we can all understand.  Kind of shifts the idea of how the Tower of Babel went down doesn't it?   But somehow.... Many days of the year, we still feel out of place in our leadership styles, communication styles, and values system in our ministry, mission, and career industry. I mean who doesn't have a hard day or a bad day, tough bosses, complaints and disagreements. We often feel unheard, unsatisfied, helpless, stuck, unprepared, under appreciated, conscious, and insecure.  All these words make us understand the commonly of disconnect, a gap, and discomfort.  May in the next week or so we approach the throne of grace, to be reunited with the Father, and ask our F...

A Word from the Prayer Coordinator

Purpose of SEAC Prayer Journal In order to be the catalyst that we have been called to be, this blog, will serve as a prayer journal for SEAC, documenting, encouraging, equipping, and cultivating a lifestyle of prayer in our community. We will be seeking God together as a family of believers through a prayer filled life. There will be prayer topics, encouragements to help us all face daily life, requests that we can uplift for SEAC events and leaders, praise reports, references/resources on prayer, Southeast Asian current events, and of course chewing on the Word of God. With this purpose may we grow more intimately as the Bride of Christ. -from your Prayer Coordinator, Janice M. Chau

Identifying your Voice in the Name of Jesus

The King's Speech, 2010 One of the greatest movies I have seen in the last few years was The King's Speech.  In the beginning we see how George was unfit to be King because of his lack of confidence, stammering, and stutters.  As he ascends to the throne we see more of King George's frustration and anger.   But through practices, exercises, and an honest frank friendship with Lionel we see King George break through his timidity.  With time, reflecting and redefining himself (past and present) King George is able to identify his voice to lead and affirm the country of Britain during the breaking dawn of war with Germany.   Specifically, There is one scene where there is a major break through in King George's voice.  Lionel is sitting in King Edward's Throne because it is a "chair", but King George is furious because it is King Edward's throne.      "Listen to me, listen to me," interrupted by Lionel, "Why should I waste my ti...
