Beneath the Waters

Catalina Island in the Sunset, Huntington Beach, CA
At the beach we see a panoramic span of beautiful peaceful blue skies, sunsets, clear solid horizon in the distance.  We see ships, barges, sailboats, jet skiers, surfers riding above the surface.  Underneath  that horizon we all know that there is a deep deep fathom, active beautiful life, and even constant microscopic activity stirring in the waters.  We see whales jump to playfully dance and take a breath; we see the fall season where the moon shines over crashing waves illuminating the microscopic organisms creating a red tide.  All in all beneath the waters, life rises.

Today, we are counting down 7 days, exactly a week, til our SEALS 2012 Conference.  For those of you who do not know about SEALS 2012, click on the SEAC Website on the header tool bar to find out more information.  It's so close and the administrative committee has gone clutch.  Beneath the waters, for the past 2 years the SEAC committee, and advisers have been planning stirring, and collaborating to put on a 3 day conference to raise up the next generation of Southeast Asian leaders.

I am excited for a season of rejuvenation, equipping, and glory for His Kingdom.  SEAC has moved into a season of deep healing, and yearning to know the Word, and to breathe and exhale testimonies.  We as a people of God should be, more than anything, a people that breaks that horizon to create a life not only active beneath the waters, but bursting above with joy overflowing.

Beneath the waters as his children we stay close and intimate, seeking the fathoms of His great love.  Beneath the waters it is safe and sound, calm and harmonious, even when above the surface there is a raging storm.  Today as we approach SEALS 2012 we will no longer be beneath the waters but will Arise and Shine. (the theme for SEALS 2012).

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
Isaiah 60:1

So as we approach this conference, please be with us in prayer for a new season of rejuvenation, equipping  and nourishment.  Pray for deep healing as we gather to worship, to fellowship, and empower one another.  May we be fed and draw near to the Father.  Pray that we will be filled with discernment and obedient to submission to the directions and commands that God has for each persons life, for their testimony, and for their ministries.

My blessing and encouragement to you is from these two verses.
On an envelop and post it, someone wrote this verse to me as a blessing. I keep it above my head, where when I look up from my workspace I see that I am she who is to devote herself to be close to the Lord in all things, and he will feed me with the finest of foods..  Be blessed and remember that even if you are not attending SEALS 2012, He is near you and He will feed you.

Their leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among them.
I will bring him near and he will come close to me—for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 30:21 (NIV)

Burt you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.
Psalms 81:16 (NIV)

Be blessed,

A Word from the Prayer Coordinator

Purpose of SEAC Prayer Journal In order to be the catalyst that we have been called to be, this blog, will serve as a prayer journal for SEAC, documenting, encouraging, equipping, and cultivating a lifestyle of prayer in our community. We will be seeking God together as a family of believers through a prayer filled life. There will be prayer topics, encouragements to help us all face daily life, requests that we can uplift for SEAC events and leaders, praise reports, references/resources on prayer, Southeast Asian current events, and of course chewing on the Word of God. With this purpose may we grow more intimately as the Bride of Christ. -from your Prayer Coordinator, Janice M. Chau

SEALS 2017 Morning Meditation - Listening Prayer thru Art

Matthew Geppert from Southeast Asian Prayer Center (SEACP) challenged conferees to take a moment to reflect and listen regarding our Identity.  The   continual  encouragement was to  remember  and minister to ourselves this message.   And  when we are struggling most to  remember it and profess it outwardly during those hardships. We repeated in response: “I AM WHO I AM  MADE BY THE I AM WHO  SAYS WHO I AM.” This morning create a time and space for listening prayer.   Perhaps the Lord may offer an adjective to describe the season, provide an affirmation, a new name, a vision, or an image.   After listening, perhaps draw, sketch, paint, or color the provided word.   It can become a process that will reveal a lesson, bring healing, and/or bring clarity. Creative methods and strategies with new tools may have its struggles and uncover an emotional or spiritual ep...

Joy in the Desert Place

Glory at the Foot of the Rocks, Ryan Ranch, Joshua Tree, California Throughout the Old Testament the desert thrives as a Biblical motif.  In the desert people groups were taught mighty lessons. From those mighty lessons, there was abundance, multiplication, promise, and growth. In Genesis, Abraham's legacy and his family were established through sojourning for a new land.  Along the journey the Lord promised him a nation that would be greater than the numbers of stars in the sky and the number of grains of sands on the earth. In Exodus, the Israelites sought for the promised land, a place filled with milk and honey.  As they faithfully traveled for hundreds of years, they developed as a sojourning nation.  Some developments were within their culture, simplicity of life, and worship and reverence for the Lord. In Psalms, King David and his writers extolled the liveliness and abundance of the desert.  There King David's faithfulness is grown. The desert...
